Holden has always been one to spit up, sometimes its just a little, but other times it seems like an entire feeding. So I took him to the pedi last week. Since he doesnt' show signs of having any pain, in his tummy or throat she was hesitant to put him on any medication. Which is OK with me, I don't want a medicated baby. But she made some recommendations, which we have incorporated and they seem to help. We're not nursing for as long, the pappy goes in the mouth as soon as the nipple comes out and we burp and wait a bit before nursing resumes. This has really helped in the spit up department. But, while we were at the pedi, she said it was OK to go ahead and incorporate some cereal, once in the am and again in the pm. She wanted to start out with a real small amount, 2 tbsp and consistency of pea soup.
So our first go at it was last Wednesday, of course, no surprise, my little piggy wiggy had no issue opening up wide. He doesn't really get much down in his tummy, cause his tongue is just a going, but at least he gets the concept of spoon, open mouth, enter food and try to swallow. Here are some pics:
He was a happy camper after some milk and cereal, just like his Momma. I love me some cereal.
We then headed down to Austin to visit our friends Doug and Michelle. Holden was such a good baby! He slept the whole way there and only got a little fussy when we got in some traffic in Temple. After a little milk, he was right back to snoozing.
Daddy and Doug played golf Saturday morning, while we enjoyed sleeping in! We then headed out to Lake Travis. I was a little nervous. I wasn't sure how he would handle being out on the water and was so afraid that he would get fussy and there we'd be stuck in the middle of the lake somewhere. But of course, my little doodle bug was amazing. He was the perfect baby. He slept on my chest most of the time, but at least he was stylin'.
Only the boys were brave enjoy to actually get in the water. No thank you.
