My Little Boo Bear's Nursery

So, I've been waiting to add any pictures of the nursery until I had it all put together, but let's face it, Rome was not built in a day.  We have most everything ready.  Still have a few things to hang on the walls and Chuck is still going to build shelves in the closet, but we got the furniture in on Wednesday.  I had already washed all his bedding, because I couldn't wait any longer.  So Wednesday evening I had all the bedding in, we had arranged the furniture the way we wanted and I had his letters hung above his bed.

It was a work in progress though and lots of love to get it all ready.  We started by clearing out the room.  This room was always used for a playroom when our friends came over with kids. So we took the bookcase out and moved it to the guest room, which was good because we now have the TV in the guest room sitting on it.  Then we sold our bookcase we had in the guest room to make room for the treadmill that was in Holden's room.

Once we cleared everything out, Chuck and Uncle Bo installed the chair railing and in the weeks ahead Chuck spent his day off painting.  We didn't have to paint the top portion of the walls because they were already tan from when we painted after we bought the house.  But we did get 4 green paint samples trying to find the one that looked just right.  Then I had to run all over town to find the paint that the builder used on the trim, because we were not able to paint all the trim again and I couldn't have one room of trim not matching the other rooms.  But luckily I found it.  And just so you know, oil based paint sucks!  Not only does it stink to high heaven, but it is definitely not good for pregnant mommies to be.  But that's what the builders used, so that's what we used.

Surprise!  Came home to painted walls.

Once everything was painted, we just waited.  Then finally the past Wednesday the furniture was delivered.  I cried.  I had it delivered that morning, but had to go to work once they got it set up.  I really wanted to stay home and get everything set up.  But it was much better to wait because Chuck and I were able to do it together.

Yea!  Furniture.

It was really nice having everything somewhat set up for Thanksgiving.  It's rare that my in laws get to visit, so when we hosted Thanksgiving for the first time this year it was perfect timing for them to see the nursery too.

Turkey Day 2010

What an enjoyable day!  We had a full house; full of love, memories and blessings.  This was our first year to host Thanksgiving, might have to make it a tradition.  We had the entire Hunt/Floyd clan here, along with our friends Shawn and Brenda.  Later mom came over, as did Shane, Jamie and Jacie Jones.  We are so very thankful and blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.  Thank you Lord for the biggest blessing of all this year; our little miracle in the making, Holden James Hunt.  We cannot wait to meet you in February and see what memories and blessings we will be thankful for in 2011.

Baby Holden is Very Blessed

We had our second family shower Sunday.  It was really nice to see family that I dont get to see very often.  Thank you mom (Grammy), Grandmother (Holden's Great Grandmother) and Angela for everything!  It was wonderful.  Holden is starting to have quite a collection of clothes!  Chuck's getting a little jealous cause he thinks Holden will have more clothes than him soon.  We also got bottles, bibs, a bathtub, his bouncer, an awesome homemade baby wreath for our front door when Holden is born and many other things.  His Nanna or Oby (Chuck's mom) got Holden his first pair of blue jeans.  They are so cute.  They even have pockets!

I took today off to go through everything again.  So technically this is my third time to go through everything.  First was at the shower as I was opening the gifts, then Chuck and I went through them again last night so that I could show him everything and then again this morning as I began to put stuff away.

Holden's furniture is being delivered Wednesday, so I had to get everything cleared out of the way.  Here are some pictures to enjoy from the shower.

Of course, there is always the one gift that makes me cry.  At the first shower it was the poem that my sister Marcie gave me.  At this shower is was my brother Bo that made me cry.  There is a longer story here, one I'll keep to myself, but Holden will always be able to say he has the BEST UNCLE IN THE WHOLE WORLD!  Uncle Bo is making Holden's first toy box.  Although it isn't finished just yet, we'll have it soon.  Just had to confirm with momma what color we wanted it to be.

Thank you everyone for sharing this day with us!  We love everyone very much and are very blessed to have such a wonderful, caring family.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Love,

Hello Third Trimester

Well, Holden is definitely in there.  Not only do I have the site of a belly every time I look down, but I also have the constant pressure of him on my bladder.  He really likes to turn and put all his weight down there when I'm standing and really need to go pee.  I think he honestly gets a kick out of it because every time he does it, I say, "oh Holden, don't do that to mommy."  His response to this is to just push harder.

I cannot believe that I am in my third trimester already.  Time has flown by.  I cannot wait to meet my little man.  Here are some pictures from the last few weeks.

We've also been working on the nursery.  I'll get pictures up soon.  We've got the chair rail up, all is painted.  The furniture is being delivered on Wednesday.  So once we have it set up and I get the bedding on, then I'll add some pictures for everyone to see.  Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!
