Wittle Pumpkin

Emme (my sister Marcie) stopped by yesterday to drop off some new longhorn outfits she had gotten for Holden.  She also brought a little surprise with her.  Holden's first pumpkin.  Such a cutie pie, momma's little tooter bug.

Houston......We Have Take Off

We have been enticing Holden for weeks now, trying to get him to crawl.  And finally, yesterday (9/17/2011) was the day.  He's still trying to really get the hang of it.  I don't think he realizes what this actually means, he is no longer confined to the area in which we leave him.  He can go on adventures, get into everything and into trouble.  Oh man, I'm not sure I'm ready for this.

Here we go!

September 11, 2011

We will remember.  We remembered 9/11 by spending the day together.  Holding Holden had an entirely different meaning that day.

Peek-A-Boo/ Holden's Laugh

We discovered peek-a-boo as a fun way to pass the time a few weeks ago.

Holden's laugh is contagious.  His little laugh is the cutest ever.  I love when he's playing with his toys and will randomly burst out with a giggle.  Too funny.  And of course, he is ticklish like his momma.  Boy can't even wait for you to tickle him before he is laughing.

7 Months

Holden was 7 months old on 8/4.  He is growing way too fast.  With each day that passes, I feel more and more blessed to be his mommy.  Every day he learns something new or discovers something different.  Watching him grow has been amazing.  There are times I wish I could just stop time, but I know I can't.  Which is why I cherish every moment that I have.

The past few months some much has been going on.  Holden started teething, but still has not cut a tooth.  He had his first ear infection.  He blows bubbles, talks constantly and arm crawls on his forearms.  Little stinker.  Each day I think he'll crawl or I'll wake him up to find a tooth has popped through, but not yet.  And I'm OK with that.

HaPpY 30th MoMmA

Well, it happened.  I turned 30.  Chuck always told me that he was gonna trade me in when I turned 30.  Of course, my reply was always, "Good luck with that."  He thinks he still has game and can go out and party all night.  I don't think so.  Let's recap the evening.

First of all, I still got it.  Do the letters: O.H.M. mean anything?  Why, yes they do.  One HOT MOMMA!  Thank you Trace Adkins.  Now normally, I wouldn't be conceded and post pictures of just myself on here, cause this blog is for Holden.  But, to give myself a little boost I'm posting one anyway.

OK, moving on from that.  Chuck was going to surprise me with dinner and dancing with friends, but because apparently I am not only his wife, mother of his child, house cleaner, occasional cooker, etc: I am also his secretary.  When he asked me to send a text to JJ about something, I saw a text from her saying they were in for my birthday dinner.  Oops.  Oh well.  It was still a surprise.

We had dinner at The Keg, followed by drinks, pool and a little dancing at Cool River.  After you have a kid, going out has a whole different meaning.  I was scared to drink too much, for fear that he'd wake up all night and there I'd be hung over, trying to care for a 6 month old.  But, apparently these fears only rest with the momma, cause Chuck on the other hand........

Let's just say that I drove us home, I got up the next morning and went and got breakfast and cared for Holden until 4:00 PM when Chuck was finally well enough to get out of bed.  Something about too many types of drinks?  I think it was a combination of that, plus, Mr. "I still got it"  don't got it anymore.

Yummy, carrot cake, my favorite.  Thank you Lins

And Thank You Keg staff for only putting 17 candles on my cake!

Zeydi, DeDe, Jenn and Shayna

Chris, Chuck and Alex

Blake, Brandon and David

Me and Lindsey.  The "Hot Mommas"

Me and Bekah- also a Hot Momma
Thank you everyone for a good time!  Cannot wait to see what 30 has in store for me!

Cecil's Visit

Our dear friend Cecil came home (to Texas) from Boston the weekend before my birthday.  He was house hunting because he was moving back soon, or HAS moved back since I'm a little behind here.  Anyways,  needless to say, he instantly fell in love with Holden.  Cecil and Matilda stopped by for a "quick" visit.  They were here for a few hours and I don't think Matilda got to hold or play with Holden but for a second.  Cecil would not let Holden out of reach for long.

Holden didn't mind either, especially since he got a new toy out of it.  Kinda.  Long story short, the gift Cecil got me for a baby shower gift was returned and exchanged for this cool new toy, which Holden instantly made his new favorite toy

Everything goes in the mouth these days.  Loves his new gumball machine.

It was nice to meet a new friend, Holden definitely will not ever meet a stranger.  Such a social toot.

Yes, I'm still alive.......

Let's play catch up.  So much to get on here.  Our evenings are very short and I'd rather spend time playing with the little tooter before he goes to bed than blog.  Sorry blog followers, but its true.  He goes to bed so early and mommy is usually so worn out that she goes to bed too.  So forgive me, but we'll see if we can't get caught up.
