Silly Zuppy
So I got a new camera with an award I won at work. It came in on Thursday this last week, so of course I spent the evening learning all the thousands of functions and still dont have a clue. But Zeus sure enjoyed the attention.
This is him initially curious as to what mommy was doing. |
So he gets on the bed to get a closer look, still not real sure why this object is making clicking noises and has a zoom lense. |
And getting a closer look, right before he jumped back, almost falling off the bed because the zoom caught him off guard. |
Right after he almost fell off the bed. |
Then Daddy came to scope us out, curious why I couldn't stop laughing. |
And finally, showing off. |
Other Weekend Fun
What is it with boys? They always have to compete, even if it's a silly game of HORSE. At least they looked cool?
Nice sweatbands!
Then of course there was Dad trying to burn the house down.
Yes, that's my Dad using a yard blower attempting to remove the smoke from the patio. Unsuccessfully I might add.
And of course, a little showering for Holden. Pop and Nonna got him some new clothes and his first pair of kicks.

PHS Class of 2000-10 Yr. Reunion
It was a really nice weekend. Weather was crummy, but very cool to see old friends. Started off Friday night at the Homecoming game. Man, have they come a long way! Turf, new track, blow up tunnel. All the works. Then pool and hanging out at Loose Wheels in Denison. Very neat place. All open, NO SMOKING!
Then Saturday at Tanglewood. Senior slide show, old photos and year book albums, funny memories and lots of laughs. BUT, best of all, I bet no one has had electric bag pipes played at their reunion. Only in P-town. Here are a few pics of the nights festivities.

Flowers
Chuck brought home flowers yesterday! They were beautiful and a nice surprise. "For my sweet wife and mother of my baby."
J-Bug turns 8!
Jaelyn Rae turned 8 Saturday. Man, after that evening, I'm kinda glad we're having a boy.
All Jaelyn's little friends meet at their house, got their hair and make-up all done by my sisters and oldest niece Bethany, then put on their dresses and jewelry and headed over to a little Italian pizza place near their house. OMG! These girls looked older than me! And I dont think one of them kept quite for longer than a second the entire time.

Our Baby
Well, to many's surprise, we are having a BOY! I was shocked and surprised all at the same time. He is definately going to be a character. He was all over my belly yesterday while the sonographer was trying to get pictures and check everything out. Chuck was beside himself. I dont think I've ever seen him smile that big for so long. He was 10' tall and bulletproof yesterday for sure.
The nickname, "hopper." I think I'll call him Hopper because in my most recent sonogram, his legs are so long and slinder. There was a moment that he looked like a little grasshopper, so for now, that's what his momma will call him.
Zeus is very excited to be a Big Brotherdog. I think he'll make a good protector. Here's Chuck and Zeus this morning.
All Boy
Holden's hot momma!
HOLDEN JAMES HUNT
The most exciting part, his name. Holden James Hunt. Very strong name I think. Has a great deal of meaning too. Although Holden means "deep valley," we choose it because we really liked it and both agreed on this name. His middle name though, that's where a lot of heart is. James was one of the 12 apostles, meaning "he who supplants." BUT James was also Chuck's dads name (James Benton), it is his brother's name (James Princeton), my momma's maiden name (Rebecca Darlene James Branum) and lastly, my brothers name (James Michael). Needless to say, this wittle sugarbear is named after many loving family members. This is his favorite pose. This is what he looked like in my 12 week sonogram pictures too.

And of course, me this morning. Couldn't wait to get to work to surprise everyone.

Sunday Funday
We had our first of many Sunday football gatherings at the house. Started about noon. We got the TV mounted outside, but without a patio cover, makes it hard to enjoy watching the game outside. So, to keep with our roots, we (I mean the guys) constructed this, to block the sun.
Hey, whatever works right.
BUT, the best part about Sunday, was finding my camera. I knew the last time I had it was Tuesday when David was over installing the surround sound with Chuck. I remember taking a picture of them and Zeus and then putting in back on the counter. I searched the entire house thoroughly for that thing, even asked David if he somehow got it mixed in with his stuff, but he didnt because he came and left empty handed. So, when he came over early Sunday to help mount the TV outside, he beecame my hero when he found my camera in Chuck's tool bag. Wonder how it ended up there????
I think Zeus has the most fun at these events. Chasing the kids, slobbering on everyone and yesterday he got to play with his friend Cash Jones, his new four-legged black lab friend that lives with Shane and Jamie. He was pooped by the end of the day, literally. I had to give him a bath in the driveway cause he rolled in dog poo! Smelly!
I couldn't get my camera fast enough, but our friend Alex and Zeydi's 1 yr. old little boy was pretending to shoot Zeus. It was really cute.

Lost Camera
I'm very sad to report that the prenancy rumors that you loose a few brain cells is apparantly true. I have lost my camera. I had it Tuesday, when I took the cutest picture of Chuck and David installing our surround sound, with Zeus laying in the floor with them. He's such a big help. So, until I actually find the camera, you'll just have to imagine it.
BUT, I have had two successful and yummy dinners the past 2 nights. Wednesday night I made my first meatloaf, with mashed potatoes and green beans! YUM! Then last night we had beef tips with brown gravy over white rice. So good. I've always been a pretty good cook, but tend to stick with what I know. Think I'll have to add a few more meal ideas to my menu. Especially since my favorite grilled chicken has been banished. Gives me goose bumps and the heevy jeevies just thinking about chicken. Yuck!
Update on Baby H. A week from yesterday, we'll be going for a sonogram to see if the little one wants to reveal if it's a cowboy or a cowgirl. I can't wait. I have been extremely busy with nesting. I cleared out the nursery closet and reorganized our back bedroom closet to accomodate the stuff I removed from the nursery. Now, just have to take some stuff to goodwill and move the treadmill to the back bedroom and we're in business and can start shopping for furniture!

bAbY HuNt
I think I felt the baby for the first time last night! I was laying across the bed on my left side watching TV, when I felt this little twinge of sorts. It felt different than the usual gas (sorry, but true). It felt like someone was drawing little patterns and circles on the inside of my tummy. It was so neat! I loved it. Then when I was telling Mom, Baby H was just going to town. I felt it again this morning too. Sweet baby. Can't hardly wait the 2 more weeks until we learn if we're having a boy or a girl. Can't wait to call this little one by their name.

Labor Day
Well, let's see. Chuck left for the lake with Brandin last night. My plans got rearranged due to a little storm called Hurricane Earl, so I'll be working this weekend with my team. Chuck's coming home Saturday though, to spend the rest of the weekend with me. Hopefully tonight goes better than last, I was up at 4:00 AM and couldn't go back to sleep. I did watch "The Back-Up Plan," which was really cute. Made me laugh and cry. Going to see "Going the Distance" with Matilda tonight.
Hope everyone has a Safe and Enjoyable Labor Day weekend!
